Day 1 Port of Call Southampton Departure 5:00pm

Overview

Southampton is a port city on England’s south coast. It’s home to the SeaCity Museum, with an interactive model of the Titanic, which departed from Southampton in 1912. Nearby, Southampton City Art Gallery specialises in modern British art. Solent Sky Museum features vintage aircraft like the iconic Spitfire. Tudor House & Garden displays artifacts covering over 800 years of history, including a penny-farthing bike.

Day 2 Cruising
Day 3 Port of Call Stavanger Arrival 8:00am Departure 5:00pm

Overview

Stavanger, the oil capital of Norway, is actually a medieval city. Although it didn't gain city status until 1125 when construction of the beautiful medieval cathedral began, the area has been populated for over 10,000 years. The city is an exciting combination of old and new. Narrow lanes and white timber houses are all in well preserved traditional style, from classic style to funkis. It is a modern city with a wide variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. Contrast characterises this city, the people who live there, the surrounding landscape - and the weather! All this makes Stavanger a pleasant and very charming city. Stavanger is also the centre of higher education in Rogaland county. It has a number of cultural institutions including international, British and French schools because of the great influx of foreigners connected to the oil industry and to the "Emigration Centre for Genealogical Studies and Contact Between Norway and North America". The Canning Museum is the only one of its kind in the world and testifies to what has been an important industry for Stavanger. Among the many other attractions are the theatre and the symphonic orchestra that has its home in the beautifully situated Kulturhuset.

Day 4 Port of Call Olden Arrival 8:00am Departure 6:00pm

Overview

On the shores of the Nordfjord, little Olden is a gateway to a spectacular ice wilderness of stunning dimensions. Climb an amazing zig-zag road past towering cliffs and tumbling waterfalls to the giant Jostedal glacier--the largest icefield in Europe, where summer skiers zip over ice moguls! Or take a horse-drawn carriage to a beautiful lake watered by the blue ice massif of Briksdal Glacier.

Day 4 Port of Call Innvikfjord Arrival 6:30pm Departure 8:00pm

Overview

The beautiful Innvik- fjord, an inner arm of Nordfjord, typical of the scenery around Olden, Loen and Stryn.

Day 4 Port of Call Nordfjord Arrival 8:00pm Departure 9:30pm

Overview

Nordfjord consists of the municipalities of Stryn, Hornindal, Gloppen, Eid, Bremanger, Vågsøy and Selje. A journey along the Nordfjord offers an exceptional variety of scenery ranging from blue glacier arms and towering mountains to fertile valleys and deep lakes, and taking you right out to the coast and the relentless breakers of the Stadhavet sea. The Jostedalsbreen glacier gives the rivers and lakes a special green hue that is found only near the glacier. Here, there is plenty of refreshing water and fresh air for everyone. The noumerous attractions of Nordfjord lie waiting for you. You can take part in some of our many activities or just wander in the sun along white sandy beaches, breathing in the fresh air.

Day 5 Port of Call Skjolden Arrival 9:00am Departure 5:00pm

Overview

Skjolden is a small regional centre on the Lusterfjord, the innermost branch of Sognefjord.

Day 5 Port of Call Cruising Lustrafjord Arrival 5:30pm Departure 6:30pm

Overview

The innermost arm of the Sognefjord is called the Lustrafjord. At its end, there is the village of Skjolden, which is an access to Jotunheimen National Park. In earlier times, transport from Bergen to the Scandinavian inland and vice versa was done by boat from Bergen to Skjolden and from there on a simple road over the highlands.

Day 5 Port of Call Sognefjord Arrival 7:00pm Departure 8:00pm

Overview

When you are travelling along the Sognefjord, and especially by boat, and feel you have had your fill of vertical mountainsides and cascading waterfalls for a day, you are advised to turn your attention to the small high farms clinging on for dear life. For many of these farms - and some are still inhabited - the fjord is in many cases the only way to travel. You may also observe on your way in or out the Sognefjord that the weather may change quite dramatically. At the mouth of the fjord the climate is maritime, whereas the innermost parts of the 200-km-long fjord have a much drier inland climate. It is a well-established fact that it is not easy to sail on the Sognefjord. The currents may be strong in some places, and they may quickly change directions. In some places winds may blow hard whereas the very same wind direction may give calm waters around the next point of land. Some days you may see differently coloured current patterns on the fjord surface, and these are extensions of the river flows. These fluvial currents guide the wild salmon back to their river of birth to spawn. Occasionally you may still observe the wooden structures formerly used by local farmers as observation posts to catch the wild salmon in nets. This fishery used to be an important export industry, and in the wintertime ice was cut in the lakes and stored in special houses to be used in summertime to keep the salmon as fresh as possible. Nowadays the wild salmon is an endangered species, but when you visit Laerdal and the Norwegian Wild Salmon Centre, you may learn more about the salmon and traditional fishing methods. If you are very lucky, you may even get a chance to see the "live" spawning rituals of the wild salmon. At the Sognefjord Aquarium in Balestrand you may experience the interesting diversity of marine life in the fjord.

Day 6 Cruising
Day 7 Cruising
Day 8 Port of Call Isafjordur Arrival 8:00am Departure 6:00pm

Overview

Isafjorour is a town in the Westfjords region of northwest Iceland. It's known for its dramatic landscapes. The old town has wooden houses with corrugated tin roofs built by fishing merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Westfjords Heritage Museum has exhibits on the town’s maritime history, including a collection of old fishing boats. The old hospital, now a cultural center, contains archives and photography.

Day 9 Port of Call Reykjavik Arrival 6:00am Departure 4:00pm

Overview

Reykjavik, on the coast of Iceland, is the country's capital and largest city. It's home to the National and Saga museums, tracing Iceland’s Viking history. The striking concrete Hallgrimskirkja church and rotating Perlan glass dome offer sweeping views of the sea and nearby hills. Exemplifying the island’s volcanic activity is the geothermal Blue Lagoon spa, near the village of Grindavik.

Day 10 Cruising
Day 11 Cruising
Day 12 Cruising
Day 13 Port of Call Halifax Arrival 8:30am Departure 6:00pm

Overview

Halifax, an Atlantic Ocean port in eastern Canada, is the provincial capital of Nova Scotia. A major business centre, it’s also known for its maritime history. The city’s dominated by the hilltop Citadel, a star-shaped fort completed in the 1850s. Waterfront warehouses known as the Historic Properties recall Halifax’s days as a trading hub for privateers, notably during the War of 1812.

Day 14 Cruising
Day 15 Port of Call New York City Arrival 6:30am

Overview

New York City (officially the City of New York) is the largest city in the United States and one of the world's major global cities. Located in the state of New York, the city has a population of over 8.1 million within an area of 321 square miles (approximately 830 square km), making it the most densely populated major city in North America.
