Southwest Florida is the gateway to the Everglades National Park. Stay in one or make your way through all areas to have unforgettable Florida adventures. Start in Fort Myers, known as the City of Palms. Former winter home of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, their estates will showcase their interests and friendship. Just 44 miles south, the sophisticated shopping and dining in Naples can transition easily with a reasonably short drive to a beach town vibe on Marco Island. Beaches and watersports are the main draws here, but there is also plenty of shopping and golf to be found. Manatees, dolphins, birds and all kinds of flora and fauna are within handy distance of the area.

All three areas are known for beaches, history, fishing and shopping. Fort Myers has a long history with the Army and Civil War activity. The late 19th century saw an influx of northerners and development. Continuing south, Naples is more of an urban setting, while nearby Marco Island has an island atmosphere. But being so close, one can go from each to the other for a completely different experience. All manner of watersports and beaches may be enjoyed in all three areas. Adventures centered around the ocean and the Everglades remain the top draw.
