More About Riviera Nayarit

Overview

The Riviera Nayarit region stretches from Punta Mita to Nuevo Vallarta and covers roughly the northern half of Banderas Bay. This sleepy region has witnessed rapid development over the last ten years and is quickly becoming as well known as neighboring Puerto Vallarta. While growth has brought beautiful marinas, championship golf courses, and upscale resorts to the region, Nayarit has maintained its charming seaside village appeal.

At the northernmost point of Banderas Bay is the resort community of Punta Mita. This luxurious master-planned community is home to two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses, private residences, luxury resorts, and a beautiful pedestrian promenade.

To the south of Punta Mita is the fishing village of Bucerias. This traditional Mexican town features charming cobblestone streets, brightly colored buildings, and family-owned shops. Along the main streets of Bucerias are local restaurants and bars, if you are looking for an authentic fish taco then be sure to make a stop in Bucerias.

Continuing along the bay, we come to Nuevo Vallarta. Just a quick 20-minute drive from the Puerto Vallarta airport, this area is filled with upscale resorts, expansive golf courses, and exciting dining options.
