Why Disney’s Shopping Districts Should Be On Your Radar
Rich in detail and excitement, Disney’s U.S. parks also offer adjacent shopping experiences which are unique and entertaining diversions which transcend an average trip to the mall.
Here are some reasons why Disney’s shopping districts should be on your radar:
Enjoy an array of unique shops, eateries and entertainment at one of the Disney Shopping Districts.
Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort
Celebrations are core to Walt Disney World - Opens a dialog ’s park experiences - and this also carries over to Disney Springs, where you can find Happily Whatever You’re After. Disney Springs is the best place to shop, dine, and play. Whether you visit once a year or more, you will find Disney Springs hosting seasonal events, such as their Disney Springs Flavors of Florida which offers delicious culinary experiences through celebrity cooking demonstrations, as well as regional flavors showcased as limited-edition menu offerings throughout Disney Springs restaurants. Speaking of food: Morimoto Asia (Pan Asian cuisine from Chef Morimoto), STK Steakhouse (steaks and more) and my personal favorites: Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ (Southern homestyle cuisine) and the recently opened Summer House on the Lake (California cuisine) are all a sample of the numerous popular and flavorful restaurants available at Disney Springs.
Choose from a variety of restaurants, including STK Steakhouse.
After all of that flavorful and abundant eating, you can get your steps in while browsing some of the great shopping offerings of: World of Disney (world’s largest Disney store), Lefty’s – The Left Hand Store, Kendra Scott, Sugarboo & Co., Coach, LEGO Store, Lacoste, Levi’s and even Na Hoku – Hawaii’s Finest Jewelers – just to name a few. And when it comes to entertainment, Disney Springs not only has an AMC movie theater for you to enjoy the latest flicks (24 screens - which also includes in cinema dining within 6 cinemas), you can also experience bowling at Splitsville Luxury lanes, live entertainment at House of Blues and the ongoing “Drawn to Life” Cirque du Soleil acrobatics show and more.

Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort
This one-of-a-kind district is filled with interesting shopping, dining and entertainment experiences which will have you quickly concluding that Downtown Disney is more than a shopping venue, it’s a destination!
As part of Downtown Disney’s expansion, the ever-popular Din Tai Fung Taiwanese restaurant is now open. If you’ve never experienced Taiwanese cuisine, Din Tai Fung should be your first (and only) place to experience it! From their signature soup dumplings (which are handcrafted with an 18-fold process), to their wontons, noodles, steamed buns, Bok Choy, Pork Chop Fried Rice and other flavorful dishes which are served family style, you will not leave hungry. I had an amazing dinner at the original Din Tai Fung in Taipei a few years ago and I am truly looking forward to this new location at Downtown Disney.
Get together with friends to go shopping for merchandise, enjoy music and botanical displays.
For the time being, enjoy some of Downtown Disney’s newly opened Mexican restaurants from Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán: Tiendita, Paseo and Céntrico as well as popular existing restaurants: Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio (New Orleans Creole and Pacific Coast cuisine), Black Tap Craft Burgers and Shakes and Naples Ristorante e Bar (Neapolitan cuisine). And some new foodie goodness is coming to Disneyland Resort - Opens a dialog Downtown Disney: Chef Kelly Kim’s Seoul Sister (Korean cuisine), Sip & Sonder (Caribbean cuisine), Chef Lee Wolen’s GG’s Chicken Shop (American comfort food) – as well as a soon to be announced steakhouse restaurant and barbeque eatery. When it comes to shopping, you and your family can enjoy perusing numerous retailers, including World of Disney, Disney Home, The LEGO Store, WonderGround Gallery and Star Wars Trading Post. And wind down your day at the new Downtown Disney District LIVE! Stage and lawn to enjoy live entertainment performances (available on select nights). Coming soon are Parkside Market, Avengers Reserve, D-Landers and more!
