Sailing Aboard the Navigator of the Seas
Take your pick from Interior or Ocean View rooms, Balcony staterooms, or spacious Suites.
Cabins
Recently refurbished, Navigator of the Seas is one of Royal Caribbean’s ships that continues to receive the favor of cruise fans. While its class of ship no longer carries the “mega-ship” mantle (that is currently held by Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class of ships), by no means does Navigator skimp with onboard amenities. When it comes to stateroom size: If you book a Deluxe Ocean View Balcony stateroom, you will immediately notice that the living space is considerably larger than what you might find on similarly sized cruise ships – and this carries over to the bathrooms as well (a welcomed surprise indeed!).

Activities
I recently sailed aboard Navigator of the Seas for a 4-night sailing which stopped at Catalina Island and Ensenada, and cruisers also enjoyed a day at sea (and a partial day at sea after the departure from Los Angeles). While I continued to be amazed at the cavernous aspects of Royal Caribbean’s newer ships, Navigator of the Seas feels very intimate while being convivial. This ship has all of the popular hallmark offerings that abound on most Royal Caribbean ships (no charge by the way): Flowrider Surf Simulator, laser tag, rock climbing wall, 2 thrilling water slides, a miniature golf course, swimming pools for families and a separate one for adults only (in the Solarium), whirlpool tubs and a fitness room. Navigator also has a 60-minute Escape Room: The Observatorium which is an immersive puzzle-building and deconstruction experience. ProTip: To avoid long lines and crowds at some of the more popular onboard enticements (such as the waterslides), try to experience these exciting offerings midday on port days while most guests have left the ship for tours and shopping landside).
Enjoy a delicious steak at Chops Grille.
Dining
Dining onboard Navigator of the Seas is quite a culinary affair beyond its complimentary Windjammer Café, Café Promenade and El Loco Fresh dining restaurants! Throughout my sailing, I experienced practically every restaurant imaginable on the ship – and they were all quite impressive with personalized service and individual culinary focus: Chops Grille is where you and your family should visit if you’re overdue from enjoying amazing steak with tasty sides – however, if you prefer fresh seafood with a New England twist (amazing Crab Cakes, creamy Clam Chowder, Cheddar Biscuits and more), Hooked is the way to go!

Snag a real taste of New England-style seafood at Hooked Seafood.
A taste of the Far East can be experienced at Izumi where sushi rolls, fresh sashimi, and delicious nigiri are the specialties of the house. And Chef Jamie Oliver’s Jamie’s Italian doesn’t disappoint with his delicious take on Tuscan cuisine (be sure to order the Ultimate Garlic Buns, Creamy Prawn Linguine with a side of Charred Broccoli, and for dessert, please order the Amalfi Lemon Meringue Cheesecake – it is TOO delicious). Another pro tip: save money while dining in these specialty restaurants by adding on a dining package before you set sail. Furthermore, you may want to consider booking a suite since the dining benefits are very useful – especially if you prefer to have an unrushed breakfast (such as the daily breakfast that’s served in Chops Grille which is exclusively for the use of suite guests) as well as complimentary happy hour in the Suites Lounge) – along with the other core benefits of booking a suite, including priority embarkation, disembarkation with ease, concierge service and more!
